Below is an excerpt from a 2/2 article regarding this year's seasonal flu.

Flu Season Is Off to Slow Start, But for Va.
State Is the First With Widespread Reports of Illness
By Ashley Halsey III
Washington Post Staff Writer
Monday, February 2, 2009; B01

Virginia is the first state in the nation to report a widespread outbreak of the flu, and the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the chronic winter illness might spread rapidly after a relatively slow start this season.
"We could really get slammed in two weeks," Anthony Fiore, a CDC epidemiologist, responded when asked whether much of the nation might be spared this year. "Oh, no, it'll get here."
The weekly survey conducted by the CDC during flu season found localized outbreaks of the illness in Maryland and sporadic cases in the District, but Virginia was the only state so far where the flu was widespread.
"We can expect to see high incidence for the next six to eight weeks," said Laura Ann Nicolai, an epidemiologist for the Virginia Department of Health. "You can see the illness into March, April, even May."

The current CDC flu-tracking map shows that flu is now widespread in New Jersey as well as Virginia. So, those of you living in Virginia, New Jersey and bordering states with flu activity who are taking this year's Flu Season Balancing Solution need to start taking it twice daily now.

Those of you who are not currently living in the "target areas" can keep up with where the flu cases are breaking out via this link: Weekly Flu Activity. When your state shows local or regional activity, start taking your Flu Solution twice daily. Continue until your state goes back to sporadic or no activity. If your state isn't showing local or regional, but everyone around you is coming down with the flu, you are in a "sporadic zone" and you need to start taking your Solution twice daily right away.

For our international customers — Follow the same guidelines for switching to the twice daily dose when flu becomes active in your area. Links to other flu maps:

For those of you who wish to start taking this year's Flu Season Balancing Solution, it's not too late to get some help. But you'll need to start taking it twice daily right away, no matter what status your state is currently. Keep the twice daily regimen going until the flu season has settled down and every state shows either sporadic or no activity.
