Blue-Level—Helping Others

CHILDREN
Children are like sponges, especially during crisis. They look to the adults around them for any clues that will tell them what they are to think and if they are in danger. Even though we may not be saying anything directly about the crisis to the children around us, they are busy reading our body language and furtive glances. Think back to when you were a child and your parents thought they were shielding you from some crisis, yet you knew exactly what was going on and just how serious it was by overhearing your parents' conversations and watching them interact. The kids today aren't being fooled any more than we were.

During difficult times, flower essences and children are the proverbial match made in heaven. Children respond quickly and well to the essences—and kids seem to really like watching you work with all those little bottles. It would be good to approach using the essences with children two ways:

  • Plan to do frequent, regular testing once every week or every two weeks. Don't let it go past two weeks. That's probably going to be too long between tests for kids.
  • Immediately test the child right after a specific crisis event has occurred—anything that has riveted the attention of the adults around the child.

Surrogate Testing
Here's how to surrogate test essences for both children and infants (See the book, Flower Essences: pages 16-72).

  1. Test and clear yourself.
  2. Clear the child with the basic essence test.
  3. Then telegraph test by asking, 'What essences does (child's name) need for balancing and stabilizing because of (a recent event, terrorism, etc.) and any of the emotional fallout that may be swirling around about this event'.
  4. Test the essences. Check dosage. Make a solution, if needed. Important: Be sure to do any follow-up testing. Just doing this little bit with the essences can keep your child healthy and able to feel more at ease about things throughout the crisis time.
  5. If the child has specific crisis-related fears, have him or her think about each fear and do a telegraph test for each fear. Be sure to do any follow-up testing when each dosage period ends.

Also be vigilant about monitoring your child around the impact of any news or gossip they may be picking up. Kids are going to talk about things at school, and whatever is being said may be scaring the socks off your child—and they may not say anything to you about it because they don't want to add to your stress. Even if you feel the school talk is relatively tame, be sure to periodically essence check your child just to be sure they are okay.

PETS
Pets also absorb everything going on around them. So, telegraph test all your pets (Flower Essences: pages 214-220) using the same telegraphing question that is used for children. Also, if the animal displays any behavioral change, telegraph test that change as well as the question.

POST-DEATH HELP
For those of you in the Blue-level who use flower essences and kinesiology, The Perelandra Post-Death Flower Essence Process is a good paper to become familiar with and have on hand. It allows you to assist family and friends in a way that will both amaze and touch you—and leave you with a sense of tremendous satisfaction that comes from having done a good thing for someone else. Flower essences are tremendously helpful to those who have just died. They stabilize the person during that initial post-death period when he or she is most vulnerable, and greatly assist the continuing healing/integration process from whatever has caused the death. When a person has died suddenly as a result of a terrorist act, doing the Post-Death Process for them and with them can be an immensely comforting experience—for both you and the person.

Post-Death Do's & Don'ts:
The Post-Death Process was carefully developed with specific guidelines. It is to be done within 72 hours after death and it is set up to be a one-on-one experience. It is a quiet, intimate process and was never intended to be a group process. For one thing, you have to consider the person who has just died. This is not a time for forcing them to deal with a party of people—particularly a horde of strangers. No matter how well intentioned the group, they are still a horde of strangers to the person who has died. Post-death is a time for gentleness and consideration. If you attempt to change the steps of the Perelandra Post-Death Process to accommodate some agenda you have for using this process, you will be doing something that is potentially irritating and not even helpful for the person or people who have died.

Another point: As I've said, the Post-Death Process sets up a deep, intimate environment that is shared by you and the person who has died. It is not appropriate for you to do the process for someone you don't know personally. Consider it an unwanted intrusion if you are a stranger to this person. They have their own family members and friends who are supporting them in a number of ways and you are now an uninvited interloper during this deeply personal time. Try to remember that 1) many, many, many people have successfully died through the ages without having the benefits of the Post-Death Process, and 2) people who are going through death are met and assisted all the time from 'the other side.' They are not alone. We're not the only life going on. In short, the Post-Death Process is a very special tool that is to be used by an individual for family members or friends. Anything beyond this, you are misusing the tool and annoying the person or people who have died.
