MAKING SILK PURSES
Using Perelandra's Products During Difficult Times by Machaelle Wright
It appears we're in for some interesting and extremely challenging times over the next few years. The Administration is telling us that "the war against terrorism" will go on for two years. Economists are warning us that we are all presently in a free fall that is leading to a long-term global recession and that the hope for a quick turnaround was eliminated on September 11. The speed and intensity with which the downturn has spread from one country to another has surprised economists, policymakers and corporate executives and revealed the extent to which national economies have become inextricably linked. The unthinkable the use of biological weapons now has been unleashed and is here to stay. There will always be some crackpot who will threaten to or actually use these weapons to drive home some demented agenda. And terrorism is the current method of warfare and civilian-populated areas the preferred battleground. Suddenly we're all on the front line.
The public health system around the world has fallen into disarray and is scrambling to address bioterrorism. As Professor Eli Capilouto (professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Public Health) describes it, "The public health system workforce is undertrained; its infrastructure is inadequate; and there is no comprehensive process in place to monitor and improve the system." When it comes to public health, the key is swift, clear communication. Yet some remote county health departments cannot afford computers. Some still rely on postcards to report certain types of infectious disease. Just three years ago, half of all health departments could not be reached by fax. The early-warning and response system is further undermined by a lack of well-trained personnel to investigate cases. And, according to the Institute of Medicine, many of those who work in public health agencies, including those in leadership positions, lack formal training in public health.
In watching news coverage and listening to people's comments, it is clear to me that a lot of people are either avoiding the crises swirling around them and pretending they don't exist or are overwhelmed by fear, frozen by it, and put their lives on hold as a result. Will terrorists strike today? Will they be exposed to anthrax when they open the mail? Should they go to work? Do they even have jobs, or will they lose their jobs tomorrow?
If ever there was a time for us to take charge of our health and lives, it is now. No one is in a position to do it for us. It may seem simplistic, but I think our ability to move through these challenges effectively centers around the level of skills we have in place for survival and our creativity: in short, our ability to make silk purses out of sows' ears.
Perelandra products have another critical element to offer functionality. For example, Perelandra processes and programs won't magically create world peace or new jobs. But they will help you maintain strength and stability so that you can cope well and draw on all the skills needed to move you and your family through the difficult times and challenges. Your ability to think clearly, to remain emotionally calm in the midst of chaos, to come up with creative solutions, to maintain strong health and physical ability, and to function with strength in a timely fashion is what the Perelandra products are all about. In an odd way, it's as if the past 25 years of Perelandra's research and development have been in preparation for just this moment in time.
Since September 11 our sales have jumped, especially with our essences and new MBP Solutions. This has led me to believe that a number of you have caught on that these things can help you during these times. What I'd like to do is build on this momentum by laying out for you the best ways to use the Perelandra products in light of the current problems.
I have broken down the products and their learning curves into three tiers or levels: the Green Level, the Maroon Level and the Blue Level.
- The Green Level is for beginners and people new to Perelandra who are open to the kind of alternative help Perelandra has to offer, who want and need to do something immediately, but cannot handle a learning curve right now.
- The Maroon Level is for beginners and new people who not only want to get started on something right away but who also wish to learn a few easy basic tools. The Maroon Level has a beginner's learning curve.
- The Blue Level is for those who have used any of our programs or products in the past, know how to kinesiology test and wish to have a guideline for how to better retrofit the Perelandra tools to the present challenges.
All you have to do is decide which level you best fit into and go from there. (I thought it might make it easier for you if I listed the full information in each of the levels so that you won't have to be bothered with any cross-referencing. That's why things are repeated.)
