Tips for Working Better with MAP

Would you like to have more success with MAP? Are you getting the results you had hoped? Are you thrilled with your results and ready to take it up another notch?

The #1 roadblock we find when helping folks who are struggling to get results with MAP is what they are not saying to their MAP team. Many are under the impression, and will say to us outright: "Don't they (the MAP team) already know everything that's wrong with me?!"

It's practically everyone's biggest roadblock to success with MAP: Poor Communication.

Recently, we were talking with Machaelle about some of our Question Line calls and she explained important points about working with MAP. The way she said it made us say "aha!" and gave us a deeper understanding of why talking to your team is so critical.

These points apply to every health issue you address with MAP — physical, mental, emotional and soul:

  • You have to talk, and keep talking, to your team. This is the key to getting results in MAP.

  • Your MAP team sets up the protocol on how they will address your issue according to what you are saying, how you say it and the order in which you say things.

  • In each MAP session, build on what you are telling your team. You don't have to keep repeating the same information. Once you have explained the issue and how/when it started, talk about how it's affecting you now.

  • You build on the information so you can open the doors that will allow your MAP team to move.

  • If you feel you're spinning your wheels, say that to your team. Let them know how you feel about being stuck, and what you think might be getting in your way.

  • You have to stay with the process. Every time you learn something, get an insight or if something about your condition changes (up or down, better or worse), tell your team.

It's simple really. But it seems that we easily forget in the moment. We suggest you print this information, put it somewhere within easy reach and read these tips before you start each session.

One more point: Don't dink around with the process. Follow the steps as they're written. That includes sticking to the schedule, and respecting the fact that you need time to integrate the work that's being done in each MAP session.
